Business Group To Study English

Waikato Institute of Education (WIE) has just recently hosted a group of Saudi Arabian students who are working for a large company based overseas. This particular group of students was sponsored by the company that they work for which provided the students with a gjeat opportunity to study English and experience life in New Zealand. WIE welcomes group students from companies around the world who want their employees to have experience in an English-speaking country.

ENGLISH STUDIES

The students were placed in our General English/Business English class fortheirtime here, as the students are entering the international business sector they had a keen interest in learning English that is more suited to helping them in the workplace. WIE was able to provide

the students with full-time classes from Monday to Friday that incorpo rated Business English classes and General English classes. The students thoroughly enjoyed this timetable and found the incorporation of the Business English class very useful.

ACTMTIES

Aside from studying English, the students also managed to experience the way of life in NewZealand along with manyfun activities that WIE put on. Each studentstayed with a 'wiki' home stay family to ensure they were fully emerged into the culture and way of living in NewZealand. Living in homestay accommodation provided the students with experience in dealing with people from a westem background which will help them in their future business environment The students participated in WIE's weekly activities, some of these including exploring the Hamilton Lake, splashing around at WaterWorld, scoring goals in a game of Soccer and venturing to the big city of Auckland for a daytrip before heading back to their home country.
